Action toys are most commonly made for little boys; but of course, there’s no law written in stone that says they can’t be for little girls as well. In fact, in recent decades there have been a variety of popular movies and television shows that feature female “superheroes” that have been represented by toys. And really, who says a girl can’t play with an action toy that’s “made for a boy”. Most action toys are considerd cool kids toys but can also be collectibles.

Action toys aren’t just for kids either. Many of these toys are considered collectibles and enthusiasts will often go to great lengths to find a long-sought-after addition to their collection. There are a variety of websites that cater to these collectors, and toy conventions are held each year in locations all across the country.

Action toys are often based on movies or television shows or characters. Popular science fiction programs have been the inspiration for dozens of toys. And of course, action movies are common fodder for toy manufacturers.
